Band to Join, Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Piano, Upright bass.ABOUT
I can't imagine life without a set of drums! I have been playing on and off since 19. I am not a professional muso, though I love it. Currently, I record with an online crossover prog band called SJS. I gigged regularly with Upbeat, a Byron-based jazz-funk band that covered arrangements by Herbie Hancock, David Sanborn and others. I am committed to my musical development and practice often. I have a light touch and am interested in serving the music rather than pounding it out. I am primarily looking for something with a jazz or funk feel, particularly if I can find a keyboard and bass player with whom we feel we are a good fit. I am also open to originals or anything with a classic rock or progressive twist. If you would like to listen, I have uploaded a selection of originals from SJS albums (see your fave streaming service if you would like to hear more), an Upbeat live performance at The Farm, and some earlier material from an old Sydney-based progressive chill band called Tramtracks that reverse engineered tunes from jams to produce CDs. Some spacey and melodic stuff.

Influences
I grew up listening to the great English prog bands like Yes, Genesis and Floyd. I love a bit of Led Zeppelin and Purple. I discovered fusion and love Chick Corea, Weather Report, Pat and Lyle, Herbie, Sanborn and Stern et al. I will play just about anything though I am least comfortable with pub rock covers and reggae, not to knock it, it's just not really me.
