ABOUT

My name is Ryan. I'm originally from Canada but have just moved to the Gold Coast after living in NZ for the past 17 years. I have sung and played in cover bands for many years. Professionally I have worked as a Music Specialist in Primary/Intermediate schools and have experience working in music therapy. I can play bass, guitar, drums and a bit of piano. Good at everything, great at nothing! Primarily I'm a vocalist. I write my own music and am interested in writing and playing covers.

*I would like to put together a U2 lounge-style cover band down the road, acoustically or with a variety of musicians. Certainly not a tribute act as I look nothing like Bono (lol) but would love to 'reimagine' the songs to suit a laid back/lounge environment.*

Influences

I gravitate towards music with great singers, strong melodies and superb musicianship.

My influences flow out of seven musical lakes: The Beatles, U2, Van Halen, Slash, Rush, Neil Young and Marvin Gaye. From those lakes flow many related bands, artists and genres of influence.
