ABOUT

Started gigging early 1970's (covers). Did the original thing 1984-85 ("Zinc Scream", in Sydney). Bassist in bush band in Katoomba 1988-89 (not my favourite music). Covered 'John' then 'George' in Katoomba-based Beatles tribute band from 1993-96. Founded my own Cream tribute band in 1998 (covered Jack Bruce), regular gigs stopped late 2000. Played Marrickville City Council's "Summer Of Love" Australia Day 2004. Played bass & sang lead in Purple Daze, Wollongong-based cover band (2004-2007). Got into amateur radio presentation after that (my own show - Carl's Rock History Tour), and have been recording with mate on all genres including Be Bop piano.

Influences

Beatles, Stones, Cream, Elton John (early years), Emerson Lake & Palmer, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Free, Genesis (early years - when Peter Gabriel was the singer), bit of Deep Purple & Black Sabbath, most English bands from 1963-73, also dug The Cure when they started up, ditto UK Subs, and very impressed with RATM. Loved the mid-late 1990's coz it reminded me of the late 1960's.

Epiphone Les Paul copy; Epiphone Hofner bass copy; Ibanez EB3 copy; Yamaha acoustic with Schaller passive pickup; Epiphone J160 copy.
Only two amps at present: Fender Rumble 40W bass combo, and RMS practice gtr amp.
