Started playing music at age 12 in my school brass band. Learned to read music and gained a good foundation in musical theory. Played bass in a few garage bands up until my mid twenties before life got in the way. However, I've been putting lots of hours of serious practice in over the past 6 months. If you're looking for some kind of virtuoso that can nail any song first go, well that ain't me, but, I'm a reasonably competent player - "generic" stuff is no prob, but other stuff (like certain specific bass lines) I may have to take home and work on a bit before I'm up to speed. Looking for people to jam/work on songs with and have a bit of fun mainly, but a bit of gigging would be awesome.

Influences
Too many to list really. So many. Born in the early 60's, growing up listening to the rise of rock and new genres in real time! There isn't a whole lot out there that I don't enjoy playing, even if I'm not particularly fond of the song/genre. Not real fond of Metal generally though, but some of it is pretty good (and fun) :-)
