I re-ignited my bass skills after almost 20 years of career and family focus in 2014.
I used to play in the 80 and 90ties some originals mixed with party covers from Billy Idol, CCR, Deep Purple, Kiss, Kool & Gang, Queen, Stones, Beatles etc. I contributed to the song writing of about 10 songs, one went to a studio, That was in the late 80ies. We had gigs with up to 500 audience, plenty of fun and good party.
I seek a band to join or musos to jam with playing Rock/Pop/Punk/Blues/Dance and enjoy covers and originals. I am fairly open to try different styles and genres of music. I have a demanding full time job, so my availability is evenings and weekends. I have transport and my own rig. Occasional gigs (2-3 per month) are very welcome.
I have build up a repertoire of more than 400 songs, can play along to song sheets and am able to play bass lines to common chord progressions.
Back in the days some critics and some good friends told me that I should refrain from singing. Therefore it is best for the success of the band, if my background singing is limited to huhuuu or shouwapdiwuwap stuff.
In recent years I gained experience in an original rock band, cover bands ranging from Aussie Rock/Pop to Country and 80ies and just before my relocation to Hervey Bay and covid a Green Day tribute band.

All with a steady and harmonic bass line across various styles have inspired me. A selection would be: John Deacon (Queen), Roger Glover (Deep Purple), John Entwistle (The Who), Simon Gallup (The Cure), Roger Waters (Pink Floyd), Gene Simmons (Kiss), Pete Trewavas (Marillon), Paul McCartney (Beatles), Verdine White (EW&F), Chris Wolstenholme (Muse), Tony Levin (Dire Straits, Peter Gabriel), Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) and of course Donald 'Duck' Dunn and Mike Dirnt (Green Day).
