ABOUT

Looking someone to jam with and hopefully form a band. Hard rock/metal, groovy hard-hitting stuff preferably. Need drums, bass, vocalist, guitarist, keyboard etc. - I am easy-going and friendly so please text me on 0452 210 979 if interested.

I am a very accomplished and experienced electric and acoustic guitar player, both rhythm and lead. I also play piano and can find my way around a bass as well. I am strong at improvising and fast playing.

Influences

The Beatles are my all-time favourite band and my biggest love and influence (I also love each Beatles' solo work).

Other huge influences include Pink Floyd, Queen, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, ABBA, The Tallest Man On Earth, Leonard Cohen, Gregory Alan Isakov, Flight Of The Conchords, Sigur Rós (their latest album 'Átta' is amazing), Bon Iver, Wings, The Lemon Twigs, Lord Huron, Les Cowboys Fringants, and Renaud (French singer-songwriter).

Apart from that, I enjoy Muse, Fruit Bats, Phosphorescent, Eels, Coldplay, Low Roar, Xavier Rudd, Tom Waits, Daft Punk, Daniel Norgren ('Alabursy' album especially), Maxime Le Forestier (French singer-songwriter), Kamini (French rapper) and Soprano (French rapper).

From the hard rock and metal perspective, I am a huge fan of Children Of Bodom, Gojira, Moonsorrow, Ensiferum, Wintersun, Finntroll, Opeth, Kalmah and Norther. I also enjoy Insomnium, Aether Realm, Equilibrium, Meshuggah, Finsterforst (particularly '...zum Tode hin' album), and Blind Guardian (particularly 'Nightfall In Middle-Earth' album). Other metal/hard rock bands that I listen to less frequently include Amon Amarth, Be'lakor, Brymir, Sabaton, Red Fang, First Fragment ('Gloire Éternelle' album is amazing), Gorod, Porcupine Tree, Frosttide, and Tool.

Honorable mentions that are more album-specific include:- My Chemical Romance ('The Black Parade' album), Cage The Elephant ('Melophobia' album), KT Tunstall ('Eye To The Telescope' album), Post Malone ('AUSTIN' album), David Bowie's bigger hits, the Dire Straits' bigger hits, and Supertramp's bigger hits. I also like some Iron & Wine songs, some Townes Van Zandt songs, and I definitely need to mention Jacques Brel (Belgian singer-songwriter) as an influence on me, as well as King Creosote and Jon Hopkins' collaborative album 'Diamond Mine'.

Lastly, I enjoy many soundtracks - I adore Howard Shore's 'Lord Of The Rings' soundtrack, John Williams' 'Jurassic Park' soundtrack, and Hans Zimmer's 'Interstellar' soundtrack. I also hold Eddie Vedder's 'Into The Wild' soundtrack album in high regard.
