I grew up playing trombone in various bands and ended up being part of a fairly successful 7 piece band with a horn section that played the Melbourne pub circuit weekly for a few years, playing soul/funk/blues/rock covers. We played a wide variety of stuff from James Brown through Blues Brothers to Hunters & Collectors. It was great fun!
I dabbled a little with bass at the time but unfortunately, I stopped playing altogether for 20 odd years as life got busy with kids, etc.
I took up bass properly 6 years ago and now have trouble putting it down! Have been playing in a few groups for fun, but am wanting to get more serious about things.
Happy playing soul/funk/R&B/pop/rock, but not heavy rock or metal. Happy playing covers, or original material that I can engage with.

Bass players I love include Duck Dunn, Chuck Rainey, Wilton Felder, David Hood, Tommy Shannon, Rocco Prestia, John Paul Jones, Geddy Lee and the list goes on! Just wish I could play like 'em! :)

EQUIPMENT
I play 4 string Precision and Jazz basses and have only good equipment.
