Hi, my name is Tanya. I'm 28 and have been playing guitar since I was 14. I'm originally from Western Australia where I played in a couple of reasonably successful cover bands. The first one, Max Bossie, was resident band at the White Sands Hotel every SUnday evening in Perth and we also traveled to gig on Friday and Saturday evenings in Kalgoorlie, Dongara and Mandurah pubs. I played rhythm guitar in that band. This required commitment of all my weekends and two nights a week rehearsals.

The second band, Mastercopy, was more of a fun project where we practiced one night a week. I played rhythm guitar in some songs and bass in others (all the guitarists were interchangeable as bass players in this band). A highlight of this band was performing at a Jimmy Barnes Concert! We played at 5pm, and a couple of other bands played after us before Jimmy started at 10pm, but we got to meet Jimmy and hang with him and his band!

Since I moved to Cairns I've been too busy with work, but now I am hoping to start getting back into music again and am keen to join a band.

I also enjoy playing acoustic guitar but I won't sing, I would like to meet a professional singer to compliment my guitar playing and perhaps form a duo for chilled acoustic sessions.

EQUIPMENT

When I moved to Cairns I didn't bring any of my equipment with me. I am waiting to find out if I can meet a band before I invest in new equipment but I do have the funds to do so if I meet the right band :)
