Experienced drummer and looking for mature players. I regularly travel to Brisbane to rehearse and play gigs. Looking for cohesive musicians to work together to weave that magic tapestry with a view to recording and enriching shows, what better thing to do with the time you have on the planet than create something special for the heart moving pleasure of others.

I have quality gear and transport, very reliable and driven. I’m not a really hard hitter...that’s why there are mic’s. I am driven to see people moving to the rhythm and pulse I can create. I play to best fit for the song.

Influences

I like originals and covers with melody, groove and flavour, music with soul, sometimes a little dark, coloured Pop and Rock accessible, with an edge. Everything with feeling, catchy and danceable.

Influenced are diverse reaching from rock, pop and soul, alt country and shoegaze sounds. Influenced by The Cure, The Smiths, REM, The Bats, Public Service Broadcasting, Slowdive, Th’ Dudes, The Able Tasmans, The Church, Psychedelic Furs, Cold Chisel, Tom Petty, the Go-Betweens, The Waifs, Calexico, Son Volt, Lambchop, (live at XX Merge is a fav album), Richard Hawley, Richard Swift, The Badloves, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Stranglers, Loyd Coke, Oasis, Paul Kelly, Paul Dempsey, U2, Son Volt, Hoodoo Gurus, INXS, Crowded house, Died Pretty, Divinyls, Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, Foo Fighters, Fuel, Stereophonics, Teenage Fanclub, You Am I, Bonobo, Midnight Oil etc plus a feel for late night Alt soul, bordering dance, Lounge & Jazz like Ben Webster, through to the forever ballads. I like to help people be lifted, transported, enjoy their time, sing and dance, or cry and forget about life for a while.

More stuff than you can throw a stick at...
Kits - a few. Good solid warm sounding gear with stage presence: DW, Pearl, always wood shells. I started to rethink the contribution electronic percussion can bring so I now have a Roland SPD SX Pro pad and speaker. They are amazing!
Cymbals: Paiste 2002, + more
Drum mics, Sticks, Brushes, Mallets, Rods....adaptable…. I could get a water tank like Rob Hurst!
