ABOUT

Hi! Milii here. Sydney based gal with determination to create and release good music in the next couple years. I have been writing music since I was basically an amoeba and this year I've finally released my first tune after teaching myself the technicalities of music production (which now puts me around the intermediate level).

I have a couple more singles set to be released this year, all genre-off shoots from the pop realm (electropop, indie pop, pop rock and alt pop).

I guess what I'm mainly looking for right now are a couple things!

1. To find a pianist/keys player to work closely with & start to form the "core" of my unreleased EP (think Lewis Capaldi vibes, great melodies with high/low peaks/intervalic leaping and lyrics that mean something). I'm hoping to start professionally recording/producing these tunes by roughly August this year. Also hopeful for the keys player to have their own music + a really good ear and musicality.

2. Open to the possibility of forming a band where we can create music together with the strong potential of recording/producing and releasing these songs. I have quite a bit of un-released music which I'm itching to work on with other band members and create some magic. I'm also excited at the prospect of finding other band members who come with their own ideas - the hard part is forming a group where we all gel (or maybe not that hard!

Influences

So...very eclectic mix.

Ok so I grew up listening to my dad playing Midnight Oil, Ice house, Crowded House, Simple Minds, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, TOTO etc. That's all good stuff which has no doubt influenced my tastes.

I also listened to Ella Fitzgerald, Vanessa Amorosi, Delta Goodrem and ABBA quite a bit growing up (yes - ABBA...take it or leave it. You can't deny the incredible timeless song writing!).

Personally I write in a pretty standard pop structure, but venture into different sub- genres depending on the melody/vibe I'm imagining. I also generally write on the guitar or when I'm in the shower and run out to record the ideas on my phone - then the instrumentation comes later. 99% of the time it's melody first, then lyrics.
