ABOUT

Moved from Sydney over four years ago, now residing in Melbourne. Spent more than half my life playing and teaching drums and percussion in Sydney. Gotten to know a few Melbourne musos since my move but keen to meet and collaborate with more here. I play a tiny bit of other instruments.....current obsession is bass, done a lil' bit of keyboards and so on, so I'm not so 'cloth-eared' like what some drummers are......theory's never boring for me! What I'm looking for though right now are experimental and industrial musicians (as a side project away from the more conventional stuff I'm doing) as I'm keen to break into that scene here. Been a fan of Can, Neu and others from the old 70's German Krautrock scene for years now, as well as artists like John Foxx And The Maths, NIN, Tweeker, David Sylvian, Einstürzende Neubauten, Dali's Car (Peter Murphy/Mick Karn) and a big list of others. I also like the area where dub crosses over into world music and experimental......guys like Jah Wobble come to mind.

Phil Collins

Gulli Briem....

.....and many more. Heck, I'm not even gonna start listing metal and jazz drummers I can easily rattle off, let alone the percussionists I listen to! But you know what I mean, there's a planet full of drummers I keep an ear out for.

EQUIPMENT

Main kit: mix of Rogers and Ludwigs with a collection of snares to pick. Loads of Paiste and Zildjian cymbals to match any kit set up. All pro gear, all cased and looked after.

A range of other acoustic sets with a good range of cymbals to pick. Also have a cocktail/stand-up set and a light portable set for those hard-to-squeeze-in gigs. Even have an electronic kit or two and a Roland Handsonic.

Plus a whole range of hand percussion and other surprises. Too much to list.
