ABOUT

40+ years playing in bands, mostly rock covers with a heavy 90s streak during my busiest years. I’ve played in original acts as well, though it’s been a while. Guitar and bass are my main roles, but I’m comfortable on a handful of other instruments too. Looking to link up with people who still love making noise, jamming regularly, and possibly doing a gig or two.

Influences

From the standpoint of bands I've played in (on guitar), probably it's going to be the early 90s bands - Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden. And all popular rock covers over the. past 20 or so years. That's what's influenced my playing most. If I had to give a list of true influences (people I'd like to sound like and spend a lot of time trying to learn), then the nod would go to The Edge, Johnny Marr, Tom Verlaine of Television, Peter Buck of R.E.M.,Robert Smith of the Cure and J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. Add to that the great modern blues/roots players like Jeff Lang, John Butler, Chris Whitley and Ben Harper and that kind of gives another perspective. And Shoegaze/Indie rock - where would we be without Kevin Shields and Stephen Malkmus!

For piano - spending a lot of time learning old Waterboys stuff and on synth - going back to a lot of old Depeche Mode.

Kind of a hard one to pin down since I'm a big music lover as well. At the peak of the record collecting era, I had about 5000 Records and CDs.
