Hey! My name Mereki I’m in my last year of undergrad studies at the ANU. My main horns are the tenor, sop and alto sax; and the flute. I've had a lot of experience as a solo performer with an accompanist, and with large ensemble and orchestras and come from a classical music background, having completed 1-8th grade AMEB. I regularly gig with my own jazz groups and others in and outside of Canberra.

My favourite sax players are Paul Desmond, Phil Woods, Stan Getz, Joel Frahm... . More broadly I listen to almost every genre, some of my favourite artists more broadly are David Bowie, The Cure, Lime Cordiale, Michael Jackson, Feu! Chatterton, Papooz, Chet Baker, Miles Davis, The Doors, Kimbra, The Cat Empire, Billy Idol, Tommy Bolin, Astrud Gilberto, Nina Simone, Michael Kiwanuka, The Velvet Underground and Amy Winehouse.
