ABOUT

Hey! My primary instrument is the saxophone, though I play and teach the clarinet and flute. I've had a lot of experience as a solo performer (with and without an accompanist) as well as with large ensembles and orchestras. My background is both classical and jazz having completed 1-8th grade AMEB and completed my Bachelor of Music at the ANU. I now work as a woodwind teacher and regularly perform as a jazz saxophonist. I gig with my own groups and others within Canberra, NSW and Victoria.

My favourite sax players are Stan Getz, Joel Frahm, Melissa Aldana, Zoot Sims, Sonny Rollins, Cannonball Adderley, Art Pepper and Phil Woods.

I listen to almost every genre, some of my favourite artists more broadly are David Bowie, The Cure, Feu! Chatterton, Nicola Conte, The Vampires, Vince Jones, Jamie Callum Papooz, Jungle, Chet Baker, The Doors, Kimbra, The Cat Empire, Billy Idol,Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone, Michael Kiwanuka, The Velvet Underground and Amy Winehouse.
