I've played in a few bands previously as drummer and bassist/vocalist.

I've recently started a new one - a 3-piece where I'm on guitar and co-vocals but we're currently suffering a depleted line-up: We need a new drummer (our old drummer will be leaving the country soon - parting from us amicably).

Our goals as a band:

1) Rehearse at least once a week, preferably twice or even more if time allows.

2) Gig at least once a month, preferably more – and be very good live. Perhaps even tour regionally and/or nationally.

3) Release at least one (very good) album within five years. Plenty of rehearsal tapes, demos, and possibly also EPs in the meantime. (We're currently working on the first EP.)

Applicants:

Preferred: Own transport and decent gear essential; decent musical skill level is preferred - although willingness to learn promptly and have a good ear are more important than ability level. Any age welcome. Songwriters / riff contributors / lyricists encouraged; as long as it fits the artistic direction.

Not preferred: Meth-heads or other heavy drug users; religious types who have a problem with decidedly anti-religious lyrics or imagery; people with dependent children or busy family lives; people with busy careers or day-jobs that constrain their availability; people who don’t practice at home between rehearsals; people who cancel engagements at short notice; people who don't answer texts or e-mails promptly when we're trying to organize something; time-wasters.

For the drumming, double-kick, skank-beat and blast-beat capabilities are essential. Not everything we play is up-tempo, but you'll need to have those abilities - or at the very least be totally willing to learn them. I'm a drummer myself and can help with those techniques provided you're a keen student.

As soon as we’ve auditioned you (and you hopefully join) we’re ready to resume recording and rehearsing.
