I am currently an enthusiastic amateur musician although I have been professional in the past. These days I lean towards Americana including Bakersfield Country, Peidmont Blues, Alt Country, Folk, Bluegrass and Hillbilly. I am a pretty reasonable song writer (I think).My main instruments are Acoustic Guitar and Telecaster, and I do some fairly unorthodox singing that seems to work well with what I do. In my youth I was in an indie pop band which did quite well in the UK and recorded a number of records and BBC Peel sessions. These days I am just happy to get on a stage and play. I also have a home studio and like to record.

Too numerous to list, but includes - Merl Haggard, Doc Watson, Tom Waits, Blind Blake, Clarence White, Tony Rice, John Prine, Towns Van Zandt but I also like a lot of the new alt country and Nugrass like Jason Isbell, John Smith, Union Station to name a few. But I'll listen to just about anything. You get the idea.
EQUIPMENT
Everything - Fender tele, Gibson RD, Martin Acoustic, Takamine, old 1950's harmony banjo, a drum kit, a bucket load of effects pedals, Fender Hotrod Delux Amp, and old marshal something with a torn speaker, an Ibanez Bass and Peavey Bass Amp, complete home studio full of stuff including pro tools. A funny gourd which rattles.
