ABOUT

The Sydney Mandolin Orchestra is looking for mandolin or mandola players of all ages who can read music. We rehearse weekly in Naremburn, Sydney (Thursdays 6.30 – 9 pm with social supper in-between) and are having lots of fun, under the baton of our conductor Marge Smith.
Our varied repertoire covers classical and contemporary pieces from Australian and international composers. Music played includes Neapolitan, Renaissance, Classical, Spanish, Greek, Modern and Popular.
We are Australia's oldest mandolin orchestra (established 1932) and are dedicated to keeping alive the tradition of mandolin music in Sydney. We regularly perform in and around Sydney, such as at art shows, nursing homes, community and cultural events, weddings and private parties.
Google us or visit our website on http://www.fame.asn.au/sydney/main.htm, or find us on Youtube. You don’t need to be an expert to join our orchestra, as long as you can play reasonably well. Please contact Ann on 0424279508 should you be interested in attending one of our rehearsals, or just sit in and listen.
