I play diatonic harmonicas - play some blues, but prefer Irish and Scottish music, Irish ballads and songs, some jigs and reels.
Have played miked up on stage in pubs and clubs but mostly prefer acoustic, i.e. sitting around table in bars with other musicians. Have played on St Patrick's Day March 17 for last 12 years and played with a group of Irish lads at the Stirling Arms, Guildford and The Irish Club, Subiaco. I played at the Kalamunda Hotel and the Best Drop, Kalamunda, every Saturday night for over 11 years. 2 great gigs!! Just acoustic, entertaining locals. We would often get Irish musicians dropping in as well from overseas or interstate. Brilliant craic!
I currently play at the Woodbridge Hotel most Tuesday nights at an open session run by Derrick Buckley of the Broken Pokers a local Perth Irish group, great lads and always really great sessions!
I have been playing acoustic guitar and singing for over five years and have a large repertoire of Irish, Scottish and UK songs and ballads.
I am looking to join an existing Irish group of players, or if I can find some like-minded musicians and singers to starting up a band of my own with a view to getting paid gigs in pubs, and other places but am also looking to jam with similar musos around the SE Metropolitan area of Perth, ie Gosnells, Thornlie, Maddington, Kenwick, Kelmscott. Armadale etc
