Have been playing piano/keyboard for approx 10 years - had a piano teacher in the first year in primary school but after that taught myself as I much preferred to learn some RHCP/Avicii/Beatles/Imagine Dragons than Beethoven! Having said that I'm really open in my music tastes!
I can't sight read sheet music but can learn any tab or by listening and working out the song. I would probably be destroyed by someone who actually studied piano but my only frame of reference is I always look for the hard tutorials on Youtube (Sheet Music Boss I'm looking at you).
I can also hold a beat on a drum kit and own my own but don't expect me to carry the band on there!
