Hey all, I’m putting a band back together. If you love any of these Melbourne bands - Belair Lip Bombs, Vovos, Sunfruits - there’s a good chance vibes will be right. Post-punk, garage, surf rock with a biggish sound
The game plan is to release an EP of songs I recorded several years back to play shows around, then work on new material I have ready together for an album next year. Want band mates to have creative freedom with their parts and have it be collaborative on top of my songwriting ie lyrics, melody, chord structure. Also I want female energy and love the merger of male and female vocals (want multiple voices on top of my lead vocals but singing isn’t a deal breaker) so looking for a gender balance in the band. If you’re interested hit me up for a couple of un-mastered songs from what will make up the EP
Synth will be dreamy, fuzzy, warbly - making mood rather than writing distinct licks. Bonus if you play guitar but not necessary
Bass - alive and melody driven, almost a deep second guitar ala Sir Paul
Drums should be huge with the ability to pull back and be delicate - think Jimmy Chamberlin especially in earlier Smashing Pumpkins
Open to a second guitar for the right person but unsure yet
