I am a 22 year-old bass player who has been playing bass guitar for 7 and a half years as well as double bass but not for a while.
I have played and still play in the Pantastic Steelband, the only steelband in the Sunshine Coast for three and a half years as the bass player, playing bass guitar and the six-bass steel pan.
I am a good listener and I would say if you gave me any song I could learn it on the bass guitar in under an hour.

Influences
Playing in a calypso band for three years has influenced my bass riffs and techniques to be generally quite rhythmic and tropical-sounding.
While I mostly play calypso music professionally I am very much influenced by modern alternative rock music such as Arctic Monkeys, Foster the People, Tame Impala, Last Dinosaurs, Two Door Cinema Club and San Cisco. However, I am interested in music from a wide variety of genres as long as the rhythm kicks and it excites me.
