I am looking to start a band, preferably a duo, but wouldn't mind a conventional band set up if I can gather the right people. In particularly, I am searching for a DJ who can edit, mix and arrange songs and, while not required, would be ideal if the DJ could do back up vocals. Alternatively, I would like to have another vocalist and a DJ with the skillset to play the keyboard/synth. With that being said, i'm not looking for pros or someone with extensive experience, but members who are motivated, have a strong passion for music and most of all, knows how to feel the groove!
Ultimately my vision of the band is to eventually go 100% original and maybe the occasional covers. However initially, to get our sound and style across to our audiences, also to build up our foundation, we would likely be focusing on covers to begin with and perform at some festive events or pubs. In regards to gigs, I have done my research in this area while I was leading my previous band so I am quite confident I can get us some small gigs to start with. If not, I have a few connections that I can contact.
For those who are interested, here's a bit about myself:
My name is Jason, I was the band leader for a Japanese rock cover band called Vanguards as the guitarist for many years performing at numerous events and festivals, including Anime conventions (eg. AVcon and SMASH Con in Sydney). However, due to our difference in goals and stage in life, the band was unfortunately disbanded in early 2019. As a result, after the breakup I decided to try something new and picked up vocals, where I have been taking lessons at ARMI and participated in a couple inhouse events. Now in 2020, I have decided to pursue music as a vocalist.

And here is a few example of the bands that has influenced me greatly: ONE OK ROCK, My First Story, UVERworld, Survive Said the Prophet, Coldrain, Crossfaith, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, the Gazette, Rookiez is Punk'd, Spyair, blessthefall, Tesseract, While She Sleeps and Linkin Park (FYI many of the bands are from Japan).
