Growing up in a small town, as a shy kid, being an artist never seemed a feasible option. But, as I grow older I see the importance of living a creative life; something that is akin to spirituality for me. It was in my late teens that I first picked up a guitar and discovered my love for songwriting. In 2016, in the midst of doing a PhD in research psychology I decided to quit, do a regular job, and pull all my energy into music. Since then I have released my debut EP, called Ignition, under the pseudonym ‘Decoding Seabirds’ but have since moved on, most recently releasing ‘Singing into Clouds’ under the artist name, Ilksea.
