In most bands, the drummer is the group member responsible for setting and leading the beat.

Some of the keys to becoming a better drummer include matching drum playing to the band's sound, connecting with other musicians for a global approach, changing dynamics when necessary, and finding the ideal climate through textures to complement each musical situation.

When you play any instrument you must acquire the ability to keep time, what happens unconsciously, is that while you’re listening to all the other members, we can lose focus of what’s happening from your place, and what you bring to the rest.

This is especially possible when we are starting out on the path of battery.

Drummers’ work requires work toward perfection and, as the rhythmic key is our responsibility, the other band members will always be leaning on whatever the drummer does, which involves (for drummers, above all), a high concentration.

Through constant practice and a strong desire to continuously improve, the fruits of the battery can go on reaping.
We enumerate below some ways to do conscious work to be the best drummer we can, based on developing technique and control, to take drumming to another level:

# 1. Working, practicing and listening to each other with other musicians:

Having a trusted music circle really helps in musical maturity, which happens if we can achieve synergy and feedback.
On ensemble day, other musicians will sync with you and thus, they will help by making suggestions to improve what everyone else does, from their place.
Be sure to talk about the ideas with each one of them.
Other musicians will help us by giving us their valuable input, and their comments will help us overcome on the long road to becoming a better drummer.
It doesn’t matter if you’re in a band or not, every musician has the ability to learn by working both fundamental and progressive aspects.
