Hailing from Bronte in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, solo artist Gavin James has traversed most genres, distilling country, rock, pop and soul influences into his own distinct brand of contemporary Rock Pop.
Gavin grew up in Victoria’s North-Eastern green belt and the city-island of Singapore. At age of 15, he caught the eye of Sony Music’s Denis Handlin and John Waston, signing on as their youngest-ever singer, songwriter.
After writing, recording and touring extensively both independently and with Australian icons including Joe Camilleri, Linda & Vika Bull, Richard Pleasance and Alex Lloyd, Gavin took a long break from the music business.
In 2018, a roadtrip to Tamworth’s iconic Tamworth Country Music Festival rekindled his love of songwriting. Coming full circle, Gavin is back, with a mature perspective and enthusiasm that comes with unfinished business.
Produced by multi-Golden Guitar and ARIA award winner Matt Fell, ‘Make You Feel’ is Gavin James’ debut solo album.
