Blistering the lines between thrash and symphonic metal, Brisbane’s Flamboyant Nightmare are here with their genre bending, high octane tune. Featuring exhilarating fretwork, vibrant synths, cinematic orchestral arrangements, and a groove-oriented rhythm section bolstering Rachel Kate’s powerhouse vocals, the group delivers infectious melodies akin to Metallica and Halestorm.

From extravagant Victorian Gothic-esque outfits, Kate’s deep gutturals and resonant cleans, chant along choruses to adrenaline fuelled instrumentation rooted in heavy metal riffage, grunge/heavy rock inspired rhythms, and killer 80’s throwback elements, Flamboyant Nightmare’s explosive live performances are not to be missed. Their live performances have captivated audiences and seen them perform at such events as Rock Sisters United, Sirenfest (Bundaberg) and headline the 2025 Ghoul-Stock to packed rooms. Their debut EP 'The Fall' was dropped in May 2025 and saw an almost sold out show (97 tickets sold) at Evilcorp. Singles such as ‘Burn The Bridge’ (2024) and ‘No More Faith’ (2025) have also amassed thousands of streams and widespread acclaim, as well as receiving radio play through Andrewhaug.com and across 4ZZZ/Zed Digital stations.

With no signs of slowing down, Flamboyant Nightmare are now setting their sights on releasing and touring their debut album ‘The Wasteland’ in late 2026, and it will be their most ambious collection of music yet.

We are now looking for a new dedicated and passionate drummer to join us for our journey onwards. We are looking for someone who can confidently keep time/tempo and play to clicks and backing tracks while showing off groove and creativity. They will need good endurance, especially for double kicks, and the ability to play long sets (Some of our plans involve 60+ minute sets). Their own equipment, transport, and ability to transport their equipment are must haves. Someone living on the north side of Brisbane would be ideal as this is where the other band members live and practice. Most importantly we need someone who brings a good attitude and wants to work on our music as a team.

We have an album we are currently in the process of getting into a studio to record, which blends thrash and symphonic metal elements. We are planning to tour this both regionally and down the east coast, so we also need someone who is keen and willing to tour. If you are looking for a dedicated band who want to push forward and have the drive to make things happen, we might be the right one for you!
