I'm a prolific song writer and recorder of original music since 1992 as a home project, but I have not performed live. I was classically trained on Violin for 10 years as a child and have never stopped producing music of some kind or other over the years. It hasn't been my top priority in life to make that my career, as I am also a prolific visual artist as well, a painter I suppose you could say. But I have made very slow progress in that area aside from a few promising moments. I don't feel like I've reached my full potential yet at any rate. It would be nice to explore the opportunity to collaborate with others who I feel in harmony with as a way to explore music further.

Influences
I have a broad range of musical interests from a household immersed in the classical and jazz to the Beatles and then across the decades I have followed a pathway of personal interest that goes off the beaten path at times into the more obscure nooks and cranny's of musical taste. Some of those interests reside within the mainstream musical passages of the times, with a dousing of nostalgic pollen in good measure. Then in the 90's, I started to investigate what was out there, the broad range of what had come before. When the world discovered Nirvana, I discovered The Doors, because it sounded more authentic and musical to my ears. In 1992 I was beguiled the the Cure's WIsh album which I heard passing by Brashs on Russell St Melbourne one evening. The leap from the commercial lane was quite easy for me because I was also intrigued by more avant guard forms of music that I heard on community radio stations from the cbd. The old tape recorder was always paused ready to start recording if something of interest came to air, a bit like fishing. Their was Tripple r and PBS 106.7 and ABC for diversity of interest, which was a great way to get exposed to interesting sounds. The radio in Canberra just seems to be stuck on a tired old play list from the 80's. Not even the good stuff, just the cheesy rubbish that you hated then as well as now. Enough, lets breath some life into this issue.
Anyway my musical tastes grew to include Joy Division, Pink Floyd, Bowie and Lou Reed as well as The Velvet Underground and the wave of change that carried with it punk, post punk and all it's entrails, that which is Gothic and dramatic, and that which was more experimental in it's nature like Suicide and Alan Vega and Siouxsie Sioux. and the the bleached out machine pop that proliferated as a new wave. But I guess my aesthetic has always found something of interest in most era's and genre's. I like to discover quirky things that may be of a more rarefied flavor. I like to listen to obscure 80's minimal wave more than the mainstream hits now, and I recently have learnt to enjoy Miles Davis's Bitches Brew, as I'm trying to learn the trumpet. I am always seeking out new influences and would enjoy more acoustic experimental playing, but I'm not entirely sure to be honest.
