ABOUT

Guitarist wanted by bassist to start a funky / r'n'b / pop four piece rock cover band.

I'm looking for a guitarist (and eventually future band mates) whom:
*are in their mid to late 40's/early 50's;
*live in the Hills district / Parramatta / North Western Sydney suburbs;
*are proficient, experienced players and have quality gear and transport;
*are very committed to their instrument and the band, and will regularly practice the songs at home;
*have a job, and a life and family outside of music and are not looking for a band that gigs every week but instead would prefer to perform paid gigs approximately once a month at local pubs/clubs, functions, parties, etc;
*are not in an immediate hurry to start performing and are happy to take the time to write well thought out arrangements (to incorporate key parts of the songs which were played by keyboards/horns on the original recordings) and perfect the songs;

The basic idea I have for the band is to play the rockier r'n'b / pop songs such as “Beat it” by Michael Jackson, “Free your mind” by En Vogue, etc as well as playing rocked up arrangements of staple funk / r'n'b songs by Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Bruno Mars, etc and to also play funky arrangements of staple rock songs.

A little about me – I'm 48 years old and I have:
*over 40 years experience performing live;
*over 30 years experience playing bass;
*quality gear and transport;
*backing vocals (including harmony and falsetto);
*a very professional attitude;
*performed everywhere from beer gardens, to dirty rock clubs like the Annandale Hotel to prestigious venues such as the Sydney Opera House;
