ABOUT
David Pittaway is an Australian guitarist, composer, producer, and educator whose career spans experimental rock, contemporary classical music, and large?scale guitar performance. He is best known as the founding guitarist of - Kiss of Reality, featuring vocalist - Toyah Wilcox, and for his work with - Robert Fripp and The League of Crafty Guitarists.
Pittaway has toured extensively throughout - England, Europe, Poland, Australia, Canada, Japan, Asia and the United States, performing in a wide range of contexts - from rock venues to international festivals and experimental concert halls. As a member of - The League of Crafty Guitarists, he recorded multiple releases and participated in a two?year world tour, contributing to Fripp’s distinctive discipline?based approach to guitar performance.
His collaborations include touring in Germany with - Sweets of Sin, performing and recording in Holland with - Talk That Walk, and appearing in - Rhys Chatham’s landmark work - An Angel Moves Too Fast to See, performed live by - 100 guitarists. Pittaway has also worked as a -Session guitarist for Channel 9 Television (Melbourne).
Alongside his performance career, Pittaway is an - Instrumental Music Specialist Teacher, bringing decades of professional experience into music education. As a solo artist, his work explores - guitar soundscapes, looping, improvisation, and ambient composition, released internationally through DistroKid and Bandcamp.
Pittaway continues to compose, record, and perform, maintaining a distinctive voice that bridges structured discipline with expansive, textural guitar expression.
