ABOUT

As of 27 June 2014, wish to join or form a Reggae/Dub/Blues band or similar vibe, with a strong live gig performance... I would be interested in connecting and meeting with any musos in Sydney interested in a similar train of thought.

For more info:

- I can/could play bass/accoustic/electric guitar. (Currently play in a alt rock band).
- Band style inspired by 'The Black Seeds', 'Fat Freddys Drop', 'D-Dub', 'Knights of the Dub Table', 'Salmonella Dub', 'Katchafire'.
- I've played in bands for the last decade, but never really taken it to the next step, this would remain a hobby on the side of my day job (Software Engineer), but have the intention of touring in the summer for 2-3 weeks around Oz, New Zealand as a supporting band at music festivals, camping ground events, and similar summer time occasions. During the winter months occasional gigs and recording of an EP or even an Album would be a ton of fun...
- I'm a Kiwi from Christchurch, NZ... but I live in Ultimo, Sydney for a small digital agency serving Oz/NZ clients.

Other bands of inspiration include Shapeshifter, TTOB, Angus & Julia Stone, Eskimo Joe, oh and Six60.

Given that this would be a hobby, I would be looking to connect with others of a similar goal.

I currently practice in my current band at Zen Studios just past Newtown. So that would be an ideal place to have a first jam session...

I have my own car/guitars/Amp+speaker, but obviously need others to fill the gaps. Such as drummer/singer(s)/guitarists/Saxophone/trumpet/Tambourine/Djembe Drums even... Happy to provide transport when required.

A good initial gig would be to play at one of the many Saturday/Sunday Markets around Sydney...

Anyway, figured I'd put this out there and just see if there's any interest, would be great to at least gather 2-3 people and have an initial jam, brain storm, and pick up the rest of the required members once a name and band vision has been agreed upon.

If you're reading this, it means I haven't deleted this post, which means it's still current. So if keen, get in touch!

Given that my time is limited... I would be looking to organise a weekly practice on a Thursday/Friday night 7.30-10.30 at Zen Studios. The more people in the band, the cheaper the room hire.

Cheers
