ABOUT

Hey, I’m Dave – drummer based in Cairns (originally from Melbourne), with 30 years of live and studio experience. I’ve been lucky to play everything from major festivals to small, intimate gigs, and recorded across a range of styles. I also run a local drum school.

Available for session work (studio or stage), and open to joining the right band if the music feels like a fit. I’m comfortable with music theory, click tracks, backing tracks, structured sets, and quick learning environments, bringing a professional approach to rehearsals and performances.

My playing spans rock, metal and prog through to pop, funk, blues and fusion-style drumming. My own interests lean toward heavier and progressive music, but I’m equally happy playing anything with energy, feel and a strong groove.

Outside of drums, I also play bass and rhythm guitar, and have a background in recording and mix engineering. My treated home studio is fully equipped for tracking, rehearsals and mixing, with professional gear and a full PA.
