ABOUT

Hey, I’m Dave. I’m currently based in Cairns and planning a move back to Melbourne’s northern suburbs around May–June 2026. Keen to start connecting with artists and projects ahead of that.

I’m looking to join a modern heavy band in the prog metal, prog rock, or heavier fusion space.

I’m drawn to groove-focused music that plays with rhythm, phrasing, and layered time feels, while still being musical and dynamic. I tend to connect more with material that develops over time rather than straight-ahead or breakdown-driven styles.

I’ve been playing drums since childhood, with live experience ranging from small clubs to major festivals. I also ran a recording studio and drum school up in Cairns.

Outside of drums, I write, arrange, record, and mix, and also play rhythm guitar and bass. In my project Darkshore, I wrote and recorded everything except vocals:
