Hey, I’m Dave. Currently based in Cairns and planning a move back to Melbourne’s northern suburbs in Apr-Jun 2026. I’m keen to connect with artists now for future band or project opportunities.

I’ve been playing drums since childhood across a range of styles, performing everywhere from small clubs to major festivals. Alongside live work, I run a private recording studio plus my drum school here in Cairns.

I’m looking to join a modern heavy band, with an interest in progressive rock/metal. I'm naturally drawn to groove-driven, syncopated rhythmic ideas that are inventive, weighty and musical (see influences/listening list) – rather than pure chaos or speed.

That said, I’m open to a range of heavy styles as long as there’s solid songwriting and room for creative drumming. I can also offer session work across pop, indie, alternative, funk, jazz and blues, even when they sit outside my main interests.

Outside the kit, I play rhythm guitar and bass, and have a solid amount of experience in recording and mixing. My personal project, Darkshore, was written, arranged and recorded by me (except vocals) at my studio:

I’m comfortable with theory, click/backing tracks, structured sets and fast turnarounds. I turn up prepared and easy to work with in rehearsals and shows.
