Seeking Sydney based players who would be open to helping me score the words as I download my life, its challenges, observations, frustrations, gifts and losses into songs, spoken work, poetry and prose.
Adult diagnosed ADHD, little bit high functioning autistic (not allowed to say Asperger's any longer apptly) hectic, but safe (no criminal record) , healthy, non smoker, no drugs, rarely drink, Dad of 4, partner or 1.
I told my therapist I had this crazy idea to find comfort in strangers, and bring some colour through music and see what comes down, she said it was a great idea so here I am, warts and all, asking for help from strangers, music heals, I need to write, just need the soundtrack, inspiration, and support.
Always been good with words and melody, making up stories, crafting the covert and clandestine into the everyday. A calibrationist, mixing flavours, food, music and art, all the elements I'd think make for storytelling and song writing.
I'll sort the rehearsal space, sort lunch, initially a meet and greet in late January then monthly, what form it takes, who knows, just sing a bit, cry a bit, laugh a bit, and make some music, to me that sounds perfect, hoping some people who are looking for an another avenue to direct their creativity would share their talent and join my crazy caravan into reflection.
If yourself feeling this resonates, reach out, more the merrier, I'm no expert, but safety in numbers right, don't go it alone, sometimes spilling it all our to a stranger is just the tonic, write, sing, cry, repeat. Xmas is hard, Shine On, if it evolves into something far greater than the simple selfish request Ive scripted here today, all the better. Only rules, be honest, be kind, be respectful and be safe.
I'm Damon, 52 year old Australian male, vinyl collector / selector, orator, wordsmith, pisces, soulful, kind, hectic, confused. 2026 goal is to invoke a kind of self therapy, mad as it sounds find circle of musicians, form a collective of generous folks who'd be open to a few hours each month and online to guide me on a journey into foreign territory and if it works, who knows in 12 months put on a gig and share what we found. I've never been a singer, but folks have said I could ( benefit of mild Autism is you believe everything people say)

What do I listen to, tough question, in high regard, Prince, Jeff Buckley, Paul Kelly, Nick Barker, Karnivool & Birds, Aussie Crawl, Simply Red, Massive Attack, Portishead, REEF, The Vines, Grunge, Hair Metal, The Beatiful Girls, Tiki Taane, Salmonella Dub, Fat Freddys, its an eclectic mix, ill stop now as the ADHD could make this list way to long...lol
