Usually us bass players are low-priority in a band but my style, tone, attack and stage presence has allowed me to craft some awesome tunes and I’m now at the stage where I have songs arguably good enough to take me around the world- But without a guitarist and drummer to make the sandwich, I can’t even think about the vocal style yet! So if you’re looking for something mid-tempo, groovey, melodic, thrashy and fun, HMU!

I don’t look at genres much, but if you were to describe my music so far; Imagine if lamb of god and linken park had a baby.

My approach to the fretboard is pretty standard, and I don’t fu*k around with strange tunings. I touch the D in maybe 3 tunes, and the high G in 1. Everyone else is at the top of the neck and on the E/A mostly. There’s room for a couple of really great blues/rock solo’s in some of my stuff so far and I really love the idea of backing a lead with some bass lines. That’s a fun challenge.

My favourite bass players are Rex Brown and John Campbell. I strive for their tone, whilst also being very active on stage physically like Campbell who in my opinion had the best bass stance of the 2000’s.

Not afraid to grow my hair LONG and headbang low and slow. Music isn’t just about the riffing, there’s a visible aspect too and you gotta look the part. But you won’t see me covered in tats.

I’m not looking to “join” a band anymore because the last 3 years has shown me people are going in two directions mainly: Extremely loud, fast, heavy and angry or “progressive”-That word is for faggots. Some instruments and styles just don’t go together.

So the sum of it is, I’ve got some songs that are somewhere in the middle. They are crowd-friendly enough to play at rowdy local parties and awesome enough to get us a slot on some big stages.

But even if not, I’d be totally satisfied putting on an awesome local show at a party and KILLING it. I love the idea of packing up the band and hitting a few distant venues in a van.

Cheers!
