Band to Join, Vocalist, Vocalist - Soprano, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Keyboard, Piano, Background Singer.

ABOUT

I am an experienced singer/front person & songwriter...
eager to FORM (or join) a FUNK/ GROOVE/ R & B style BAND WITH A PLAN.

Looking for musicians who want to have fun with the lightness & joy that funky grooves impart, keeping people dancing on their feet with mostly uplifting songs & irresistible grooves.

I've recently written more than 30 easy to learn groove based/funk songs (& some reggae) & compiled a list of complementary covers. Aiming to keep the vibe on the more sophisticated side.

Looking for BAND MEMBERS who are ambitious & looking for the right, no fuss project in the above genres.

Requirement first is for all to learn just 3 covers (from home) then come try them out with the band (private rehearsal space Ourimbah area).

This band needs Funk/ R n B/ Reggae/Jazz players...

1. DRUMMER required: Who can sit right in the pocket (busy fills rarely needed).

2. GUITARIST required: Rhythm guitarist.. if you like Nile Rodgers, you are in the right place.

3. KEYBOARD player with Jazz chops.

Great Bass player is already on board.

It's preferable if you are based in the Central Coast/Newcastle area...
OR... willing to travel for rehearsals (40 minutes north on the M1 from Hornsby on ramp). I expect we will be travelling to Sydney & surrounds for gigs once the band is ready to play. The Funk band is my top priority...

Meanwhile I have time to potentially look at other projects...

I am also looking for a JAZZ keyboard player &/or Jazz guitarist to form a duo to show case the music of Joni Mitchell.
Because her musical arrangements are complex I'm using quality backing tracks that one instrument can play along with.
Timing is right for a Joni show this year, ongoing. I'm fine with musicians reading off charts at all gigs, no problem.

I can also fit very easily into a Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac showcase band, appearance wise & vocally.

Ditto, female singer showcase type gigs...classy not cheesy.

I also have sets of torchy Jazz standards ready to gig if there is anyone out there needing a Jazz singer.
I have a 3 octave vocal range.

I will be seeking agents then management as projects develop.

Eclectic: Vocal harmony groups from the Beatles onwards. Jazz/fusion, funk, acid jazz, Steely Dan, Santana. Pink Floyd, Talking Heads. Brand New Heavies, Incognito, Chaka Khan, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, Sade, Alicia Keys. Vintage funk, R & B.
