Awkward Convos is an ambitious and constantly evolving music project which was established in 2015 by Award-winning designer & youtuber: Joshua Dickinson. (Aka. SquishyJoshy)

Joshua is mixed British/Filipino, born and raised in Sydney, Australia. Growing up in a diverse family exposed Josh to the best of both cultures as well as a variety of different music ranging from Psychedelic Rock all the way to Folk, Metal, Gospel & Worship Music. Awkward Convos is like a layered cake, with each layer representing a different story. From humble beginnings entering local competitions in high school, to DJ sets for corporate events and working as a full-time creative. Josh has been writing songs from his bedroom since 2007 and until COVID-19, Awkward Convos has been a passion project that was often put on hold due to life getting in the way. Not anymore! On 26 June 2020, Awkward Convos will be releasing their debut EP “Eidolon”, with a full album planned for release in December. Josh believes that Rock & Heavy music (in general) is extremely under-represented in Asian culture and hopes to change that.
