ABOUT

DRUMMER WANTED FOR SHOEGAZE BAND (Sep 2014)

We are a shoegaze / dream pop / ghost rock band looking for a drummer to play live shows, do recordings and make something of ourselves in Sydney as well as Australia-wide with sights looking beyond e.g. in Japan.

We love shoegaze, but our interest lies in redefining the genre rather than just replicating what's already out there. We place a strong emphasis on vocals, melodies and atmospheres as well as maximising our individual idiosyncrasies within it to cultivate a certain 'distinctiveness' in our music as a group.

This honing of distinctiveness not only amplifies our creative fulfilment (gained from pursuing expressions derived from being inimitably you), but also creates a much needed niche; a unique value within the over-saturated 'rock band market' in Sydney and elsewhere.

All three of us have played plenty of live shows with various bands.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A DRUMMER

All or a mix of:

- Love for the genre and willingness to do redefine it in your own unique ways. Skills are necessary, but creative / outside-the-box rhythmic expressions and influences are most valuable.
- Has his/her own kit. Electric pads, programming, and real percussions are all a plus.
- Experience playing in bands (or minimal experience but committed to learn)
- Not egocentric, but empathetic and collaborative
- Available at least one session a week
- Practically and proactively motivated to make a societal impression through the band.
