A backing vocalist with strong falsetto is sought, ideally with basic abilities on the guitar, keyboard and percussion.
Artefact’s debut album is an uncategorisable mix of classic pop, systems music, contemporary composition and electronica. An upcoming major performance in June will uniquely incorporate several different performance approaches and media but primarily focused on music, film and 3D projection mapping installation art. Six multi-instrumentalists will switch between electronics, keyboard, bass, piano, guitar, a wide range of percussion instruments as well as perform live the record’s huge vocal arrangements.
‘No Safe Place’ is beginning to create a considerable buzz in the Australian music industry, having received a glowing review in the Sydney Morning Herald, where John Shand said that “If a magic carpet made a sound when it flew it might be this”. Album tracks have been played on ex head of Triple J Tim Ritchie’s Radio National program ‘Sound Quality (and described as a “remarkable new project”) as well as numerous independent stations. Artefact’s 3D, fully animated film clip for ‘What I Want’ will also be released in the lead up to the performance.
