Ex-Teacher who suddenly has a lot of time on his hands (retirement).
Just looking for folk to jam with. Playing music starts at good. Historically (80s and 90s) I was a synth player/programmer (I still have my Roland W-30 music workstation, and I'm actually on the lookout for for a Roland JP-8080, but that's a story for another day).
These days I play an Ibanez sr1206 and sr255 through a Fender Rumble 150. I have a few pedals, but mostly I like the natural tones of these instruments. I'm not very good, but I have a good sense of rhythm and groove.
I find myself drawn to the likes of Pino Palladino (with Gary Numan, NIN, and John Mayer), Jaco, and John Taylor (Duran Duran). I cannot at all reproduce their technical virtuosity, but on a good day I can groove with them.
I cannot play slap.
I can also keep a reasonable rhythm on drums, and have even been known to have a bit of a sing from time to time.
Due to space requirements it can't happen at my place, but I'm happy to drive around town.
