ABOUT

I'm a lead vocalist looking to form or join a band for doing gigs. I have never done gigs before, but it is something I definitely want to do. I love singing. I have a strong voice, and can sing for 2 to 3 hours before showing any signs of fatigue. I have a mezzo soprano voice, so I can sing a wide range, but just not really low stuff. I enjoy singing mostly music from 80's and 90's pop/soft rock, but also don't mind some older music from 60's and 70's, and from other genres such as RnB, rock, etc. Just not really up to date with current music (from say around 2010 onwards, I don't know a lot of songs). But if it has a good melody and lyrics, I'd be happy to try and learn it. I can learn songs pretty quickly.
I used to be a singing and piano teacher. I can also play piano, but get more enjoyment out of singing. I live in the city, but happy to travel to wherever to rehearse.

At the moment, I'm available weekend afternoon and evenings for rehearsal/practice. I'm also currently available during the day week days - but this could change. But should always be available for weekend afternoon and weekend evenings. Can make myself available Friday nights if needed. I have a flexible schedule (at the moment), but do need approx. a months notice to change things.
Also, I am happy to rehearse however many times a week as required, and will practice at home most days. I'm very dedicated to doing this. I love music.

Influences

Don't have any particular "influences", but tend to prefer songs from strong female artists, such as Carpenters, Olivia Newton-John, Adele etc. (Too many to list them all).
