ABOUT

Tenor and alto sax player with over 30 years experience of performing and gigging. Performed regularly at private events (weddings etc), corporate events, clubs and festivals. Having started out as a UK County Youth Big Band performer and playing at venues across Lancashire, UK, I spent my student years playing jazz and lounge (think Real Book) with 6 piece bands in and around Birmingham UK. I spent 12 years in a 9 piece pop function band (part of a 3 horn section) playng weddings and corporate events across the UK. I relocated to Cardiff Wales, UK in 2005 and spent time depping for Big Band and disco bands in South Wales. In 2008 I was asked to join a 7 piece ska band, 2Rude which had just formed in Newport, South Wales, UK and was their original sax player. I spent 9 years with 2Rude performing across the UK at clubs, private venues and large summer festivals and playing a full range of ska and early 80s (Specials, Madness, The Beat, Bad Manners, Selector, Dexy's). Alongside this I maintained pop/lounge playing with CueNotes, a 6 piece function band which, alongside playing private gigs held several residences in clubs in Cardiff.

I have played well over 400 gigs and have experience of playing ska, pop, disco, blues, soul, big band, jazz and lounge along with pit work for amateur musical theatre productions. I have experience of studio recording with pop, big band and ska genres. I relocated to Melbourne in early 2020. Looking for playing in a band or as a session sax player
