ABOUT

Hey I'm AJ. I've been playing guitar and piano since I was a little kid and have been a part of many rock bands previously. Although I don't have professional level experience playing live, I do have a lot of experience in the studio and I hold a degree in Composition and Audio Engineering from Berklee College of Music. I currently work in video game industry as a sound designer.

My interests in music are a little all over the place. I'm a classically trained pianist and got really into jazz as a teenager so I love anything complex and jazzy. Also a big metal head and love the modern metal sound. I really like anything that might be considered 'alternative' or experimental as well.

I'm currently working on a modern metal project with a fellow producer in the vain of Sleep Token/Northlane. I am keeping an eye out for a singer, drummer and bass player (and maybe a guitarist) for this. We have written and produced 4 demos and we have a very good feeling about it. Just as a warning, we have extremely high standards for players (no amateurs). I will need them to be able to sight read perfectly on their instrument (read notes, not TAB) and have no issues with very complex arrangements. An advanced knowledge of music theory and improvisation will also be important (minimum: chord scale and modal theory). Guitar tunings are pretty weird but are similar to Drop G on a 7 string and standard a whole step down on an 8 string. We generally smash out recording in a few hours and are not interested in doing unnecessary rehearsals, takes, etc. Reach out to me if you fit this criteria!!! ajstewart_mx
