ATTENTION DRUMMERS!

We are currently on the search for a drummer following the departure of our original drummer.

US:
We are an alternative rock band with a sound similar to that of Violent Soho, The Smith Street Band, and WAAX. We are based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne but this is likely to adjust according to the needs of the members (as we are all in the process of searching for our first apartments). We are all aged 25-26. After an extensive writing and pruning process, we have cut 15 songs down to 12 demos and subsequently 6 selected songs that we plan to gradually release across the next 12 months. We would like to find a drummer who is comfortable with slotting into the band as we have a very clear direction regarding our releases for the next year. We'd also like to find someone who is eager to take part in the collaborative process as we progress forward with future releases, following the recording and release of this current song cycle.

We all have growing careers external to the band but work hard to make sure we have time to commit to the project. We would like to rehearse frequently (and in accordance with our upcoming plans) and intend to gig weekly/bi-weekly once things are back up and running. We treat the band very professionally and have frequent meetings to develop plans to make effective use of our time together.

We would someone who is confident behind the kit and is willing to experiment with us as we tinker with our sound and try and elevate the songs we create. We endeavour to work very collaboratively during the creative process.

Age isn't a big deal, but we would like to find someone who is like-minded in their objectives and life stage. We really prioritise proactive people, b reactive people and so we'd like to find someone who shares our motivation and desire to grow the band. We would like someone who is willing to be vulnerable as we believe that a willingness to put ourselves out there and fail publicly is an important part of the process. We’d also like someone who is in a similar living position as we are, as we try to commit ourselves as much as possible to the band outside of our jobs (in other words, we need you to be able to be selfish with your free time so if you have kids, this might not be the band for you!).

We require someone who is willing to commit themselves financially to the band as well. We try our best to estimate and plan our budgets for upcoming releases, but we intend to invest ourselves into the production and marketing of our songs and would like to spread these investments equally. It is likely we will encounter a number of expenses this year, but this is a process that we will systematically address and ensure that everyone is on the same page for before any commitments are made.

Please ensure that there are no reasons you are unable to gig + rehearse. That is to say, you are vaccinated, your transport is reliable, and you are accountable. We will help you pack and unpack your drums, but we are not keen on being someone’s full-time chauffeur.

We are really excited about upcoming releases and the future of this band and we are confident that the right fit is out there.
