Adrian is no stranger to the stage. His father Rick Charles was known as Australia’s number one Elvis Presley Tribute performer and third in the world best sound alike. It was just 8 days after his birth that Adrian made his first appearance to the world on the front page of the Herald Sun newspaper dressed in a tiny Elvis jump suit. Although it is through his childhood experiences that Adrian discovered a passion for performing, he acclaims that growing up in the world of theatre was certainly not as easy as many people may think. While most children would be at home in a warm bed, young Adrian would be backstage casinos, theatres and reception centres being amused by magicians, cabaret dancers and theatre staff. “I’d be so tired sometimes that id find myself a table to crawl under into a ball and rock myself to sleep” – Adrian
Adrian made his first stage debut at the age of 3, singing the chorus line to an old Bobby Vinton song alongside his father in a local community show. “The entire performance I was trying to get this magicians attention to tell him that he had left his cards behind... the audience couldn’t stop laughing” – Adrian. By the age of 15, Adrian had embarked on his own adventure, discovering the world of musical theatre and beginning his own solo act as a Michael Jackson Tribute artist, performing his acting in places all over Australia including the Crown Casino, Melbourne and The Star, Gold Coast. Adrian also added a Freddy Mercury impersonation to his solo act.
It was by the age of 17 that Adrian decided he wanted to not live behind the shadow of anyone anymore and aspired to have a name of his own. “I love the theatre, to become someone else, there is not a more freeing escape... but eventually you have to return home, I never want to go home” – Adrian Jemale. Since then, Adrian has obtained a certificate III music performance and currently studies a bachelor’s in applied music Composition. Through this course Adrian has discovered a deep passion for film scoring and aims to one day bring his musical abilities to the big screen as well as the stage. Adrian has been on the grind establishing himself as an upcoming singer songwriter, with his first original material set to be released later this year!
