I started learning in my early 40's and am past 50 now. I love writing my own music and i've got some songs up on Soundcloud under "Littlebitrusty" and i'm also on Spotify under "Russell Carstens". I'm in a cover band at the moment in the northern suburbs rehearsing fortnightly on Sundays and gigging when we can.
I'm really interested in writing and performing new music and would love to join a band with similar interests.
I'd be available for rehearsals either weeknights 1 night a week or alternate weekends to my cover band.

Influences
Boils down to rock songs really. Dire Straits were a big early influence in story telling through song; Def Leppard for their sound; Guns & Roses for both story telling and sound. Mostly any kind of rock/blues rock.

EQUIPMENT
I use a Fender Stage 800 amp and do some home recording using a pretty basic setup with Cubase as my DAW. Some plugins but also line in from my valve amp and a multi-effects pedal (Boss GT-6). I play bass using both a standard 4 string squire jazz bass but also a Bass VI (6 string bass/guitar tuned an octave lower than guitar). For guitars i use Les Paul; Tele; Strat/super strat.
