I'm a guitarist/song writer looking for an experienced drummer to complete a new band line up.
I have been playing in bands on and off since I was a teenager including as a full time touring musician throughout my twenties.
I love making music; rehearsing, recording, playing gigs and having fun with like minded people. I am also a 'family man' with a full time job so I can't commit in the way I once did. Ideally this would look like fortnightly rehearsals, gigs whenever we can and perhaps the occasional weekend away. This would mean everyone doing some homework with the songs if it is to work.
I want this project to essentially pick up where my last one left off. I would like to start off learning some of the old material add some new material to form a first set and play as soon as possible. We can then continue to add material as we go.
The music I love and love to make is generally what I would call 'high energy rock'. I love the adrenalin of playing fast and loud. Much of my interest has centred around the Australian independent music scene of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Sometimes the bands I like or have played in have been called 'punk' but there is plenty of 'punk' that I am not interested in too. Mostly the bands I am into are or were 'underground'...but then some of them also became popular...
I am looking for a drummer who is similarly passionate about making music and will need to have some chops and be able to play fast and with intensity.
