ABOUT

I was trained in classical singing for many years whilst I lived in Sydney then professionally changed and trained in contemporary. My voice whilst still maintaining the strength of classical is highly flexible and variable. I have 1/500 perfect pitch and never need auto tune. I can sing most songs and emulate most artists. I can rough my voice up a little or sing as smooth as Spandeu Ballet, Do blues, RnB, and for many years I only did Christian contemporary, Gospel and rock. As my voice is strong I do not make a good backing vocalist unless the main vocalist is also strong. I have amazing vocal flexibility and can sing A cappella perfectly.

Whilst I am not a keyboardist, I have perfect pitch, a didactic memory for every rune and can play keyboards a little.

Influences

I have many influences even Davy Jones. I can copy many artists. My vocal range is 3.5 octaves but struggle to fit into artist profiles like Bono from U2 who is just on the very top of my range and slightly over. I can sing most of the songs from Les Miserables for examples from Empty Chairs, to Bring him home.

When in a band I practice for up to 4 hours a day prior to performance and need a minimum of one hour a day. I can hold a dead steady note for up to 15 bars at present and can expand that when I get back into it.
My favorite stage mic has always been a Sure SM58.

I also do not suffer from stage fright... got over that 30 years ago. I have been a lecturer at university too so being in front of people is rather quite fun.

If I perform, the band must have adequate rehearsals or you can count me out.

If you want me to audition, you will need to send me an MP3 etc of your song (s) so I can practice. I will not go in unprepared as what I have in my mind may be totally different to what you have in mind. If you just want to Jam it up, as long as I know the song and lyrics, I'm in.
