It's all about the swing and the honesty and passion expressed in the music. It's about getting it right, getting tight but not strangling it, knowing the charts but not necessarily having cemented arrangements for every song. Improvisation within the limits of good taste.

Influences
Almost everything really. How can you be a musician and not be influenced by everything you hear. What do I love myself? I love how Louis Armstrong sings, I love the harmonies of every great harmony outfit that's ever sung (whether it's Crosby Stills & Nash or the Glazer brothers), I love both Beethoven's soul and a hip hop song called Bad Apples, I love the poetry of Bob Dylan and the simplicity of Spiderbaits version of Black Betty, I love the folklore of the life of Huddy Leadbetter and the intriguing mathematics of the partial tone series. Frankly, I just like playing music, good music, music with passion, soul and a desire to share that love, passion and skill with an audience.
