Normally use the 'silent stage' method. All instruments go straight into the PA. Digital drums. Guitars get their amp sound from amp modelling in pedals. The benefits are - 1. Less lugging, 2. No need to pay for rehearsal rooms 3 - Better live mix that's not too loud, and audience can hear the vocals.
